Easy Crayon Art

My dear friend Beth invited me to her place a few nights ago for a night of crafting.

I love that girl!

Here's what we made...

To make your own, you'll need the following supplies:

A canvas

Crayons

Hot glue gun

Blow-dryer

Some newspaper or other material to put down to catch any messiness

The process is super easy.

1) Hot glue your crayons to your canvas

2) Stand your canvas upright on top of the newspaper and blow dry the crayons until they start to melt

3) Sit back and enjoy your art!

Mine is on the right. You can see I took a different approach from Beth, who made her art horizontally and used gradients in color. That's the beautiful thing about art though, there's no right or wrong! I think they both turned out great!

  1. Emily,
I do love New Orleans, it's a great place to just get away.
But you do have to be careful, not all parts are safe.
I LOVE your art!! I've seen these on Pinerest, but was not sure how they were made. This would be fun and easy for my next Girls Craft Weekend.
Where are you going to hang it?

    1. You're right about New Orleans. It's sad that some parts are dangerous.

I had never seen these on Pinterest but my friend Beth had. They are so easy to make! You should definitely try it out.

I'm going to hang mine in my office at work. I work for the LA. Board of Regents in downtown BR as a Senior Policy Analyst. As a policy nerd I'm allowed to be a little quirky ;)
