The Highland Road Park Observatory (HRPO) is located in the Highland Road Park and offers free Friday night sky viewings (using a 20-inch reflecting telescope). Prior to the viewing they hold a lecture from professors and/or graduate students from LSU's physics and astronomy departments.
I've been twice now and always enjoy it.
